OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 March 2009 was announced, that one of the priority businesses for major Russian grain processor PAVA is promotion of consumer-size products. Today, PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru) produces consumer-size flour under two trademarks: PAVA®, similar to the company’s name, and Altay-Batyushka® in a blue and white bag.

Promotional campaign for the named products is carried out both on domestic market and abroad. The first 200-tonne consignment of PAVA and Altay-Batyushka flour was sent to the Republic of Mongolia. For the trial batch, PAVA’s partner chose 1 kg, 2 kg and 5kg packages.

Since 2008, PAVA consumer-size flour has been shipped to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Beginning from 2009, the Altay grain processor has made monthly shipments to Uzbekistan which incorporate the whole range of PAVA and Altay-Batyushka products as well as semolina in 0.85 kg package. “According to our partner, the flour is in steady demand. The product has made a good performance winning loyalty of local wholesalers and housewives who purchase flour in retail shops”, commented Angela Kiseleva, PAVA Commercial Director.

A steady partnership is established regarding consumer-size flour shipments to Kyrgyzstan. Here, Altay-Batyushka flour and PAVA flour are in equally high demand. They are successfully distributed through retail networks of the country, so every month the company receives steady inflow of orders from Kyrgyzstan.

“Increasing sales of consumer-size products is one of the means to enhance business profitability; therefore, it is highlighted. At present, we are in talks with a number of companies from far and near abroad. As for long-distance shipments, the topical issue is transportation – paper bags in which the flour is packed are more fragile than the package for bigger volume. Although the paper package is enhanced with metal-strapped boxes, we are not 100% sure that the products will reach the customer in the necessary condition. This issue is being worked on”, concluded Ms Kiseleva.
