OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2009. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received CEO of Honeywell International Inc Corporation Mr. Dave Cote.

Cordially greeting the Turkmen leader Mr. Dave Cote thanked for the opportunity of a personal meeting and said that he was very glad to visit Turkmenistan which determinedly advanced along the path of fundamental reforms and large-scale programmes of national social and economic development.

Noting that having entered the stage of fundamental modernization Turkmenistan endeavoured to expand international cooperation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that emphasis was put attracting the best international practice and introducing advanced technologies in industry. In this regard the President noted that a number of the U.S. large companies had been operating as a dependable partner and collaborating in the implementation of the important national projects in the country for many years.

Mr. Dave Cote said that the business circles in the United States were intensively interested in expanding on the very promising Turkmen market that was evidenced by his visit to Ashgabat. Representing one of the oldest and most authoritative companies of the United States the guest said that Honeywell International Inc was founded a hundred years ago and ranked among the world’s leaders in designing and applying the innovative technologies in aerospace industry, aircraft construction, specialty materials and power plant management system. The guest expressed belief that dynamically developed Turkmenistan with the profound economic potential would become one of the company’s long-term partners.

The sides exchanged views on the perspectives of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Honeywell in compliance with the priorities of Turkmenistan’s policy and the company’s potential. The sides considered particularly the aspects of partnership in the fuel and energy sector and training highly qualified specialists for the sectors of Turkmen economy, first of all high-technology sectors

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the proposals put forward by the CEO of the American corporation would be taken into consideration.

Thanking the Turkmen leader for the opportunity of a personal meeting the CEO of Honeywell said that the company stood ready for effective cooperation with Turkmenistan and assured that the company’s expertise would be employed for this purpose.
