In January-February 2009, Commercial Port of Vladivostok handled 621,400 tonnes of cargo (-34.6%, year-on-year) including 386,500 tonnes of export cargo (-29.5%), 119,100 tonnes of import cargo (-47%, 115,500 tonnes of coastal trade cargo (-34.5%), the company states. In the reported period, the company’s container throughput totaled 27,288 TEU (-26%) including 8,329 TEU of coastal trade cargo, 8,249 TEU of import and 10,710 TEU of export.

In February, the company handled 335,300 tonnes of cargo including 220,100 tonnes of export cargo, 61,400 tonnes of import cargo and 53,800 tonnes of coastal trade cargo. In February, Vladivostok Container Terminal handled 12,729 TEU (up 3% against plan) including 3,918 TEU of coastal trade cargo, 3,473 TEU of import and 5,338 TEU of export. The company attributes the result to the increased transshipment of export metal to 155,489 tonnes, which accounts for 48.4% of the entire February throughput.
