OREANDA-NEWS. On 23 March 2009 Vladimir Resin, first deputy Moscow Mayor, head of Integrated Body for Urban Design Policy and Development of Moscow, told journalists, that “We are at the staff conference on the operating platform and discussing the concrete issues concerning the work to be done that has been financed. This is the main thing for us, not phrases about the crisis”.

That was the official’s reply to the question about the priorities of Moscow’s builders amid the financial and economic crisis. The meeting took place at the headquarters aimed at developing Shcherbinka township (southwestern Moscow) within the traditional Saturday examination of the building sites of the Russian capital.

According to Mr Resin, Moscow’s builders have the approved urban development program and they will work to complete it.

The first deputy Moscow Mayor emphasized: “Firstly, a crisis comes and leaves, but work remains. Secondly, the situation varies – we were overcoming the similar problems in the early 1990s and in 1998. But life went on.”

The head of Integrated Body for Urban Design Policy and Development of Moscow believes there are no heroes during tough times, there are only doers of the work assigned to them.
