OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2009. Inter RAO UES and its subsidiary, Energijos realizacijos centras (ERC), have concluded the second long-term contract for supply of electricity to Lithuania till 2020.

The supplies will be carried out on a daily planning basis with the price formula including the electricity export price on the Russian market and transit costs.

The first 10-year contract for guaranteed supply of Russian electricity to Lithuania was signed in early Mar 2009. Almost 2.5bln KWh will be annually supplied to Lithuania under this contract.

In the framework of the contracts the parties will carry out a complex 10-year program to supply Russian electricity to Lithuania and the other Baltic states so as to ensure the energy security of the local consumers after the shutdown of Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant Jan 1 2010. This program is supposed to fully meet the demand of Lithuania and the other Baltic states for imported electricity.
