OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2009. Khimpromengineering Scientific-Industrial Company OJSC has issued 2,492,668 additional shares worth 2,492,668,000 RUR (1,000 RUR each). The shares were placed in favor of the only shareholder of the company, Techsnabexport OJSC (100% subsidiary of Atomenergoprom OJSC).

99.99% take in Argon Ltd, 99.9% stake in SNV Ltd, 99% stake in the Plant of Carbon and Composite Materials Ltd and 99% stake in TENEX Technological Center have been transferred into the authorized capital of Khimpromengineering as a result of the issue.

Khimpromengineering Scientific-Industrial Company OJSC is a managing company in the field of production of carbon fiber, set up in Apr 2008. It is part of Techsnabexport OJSC.

Khimpromengineering is Russia’s only producer of carbon fiber and polyacrylonitrile precursors, which are manufactured by its subsidiaries, Argon Ltd (Balakovo, Saratov region), the Plant of Carbon and Composite Materials Ltd (Chelyabinsk) and SBV Ltd (Saratov). The key consumers are nuclear and aviation companies as well as the military-industrial complex. In 2020 the company is planning to produce no less than 3,000 tons of carbon fiber a year.

Atomenergoprom OJSC (Atomny Energopromyshleny Kompleks) is a state holding that is supposed to comprise 89 nuclear companies and to cover the whole range of nuclear services: from uranium mining to NPP construction and electricity production. Atomenergoprom’s companies will have a total of 175,000 employees and an annual production of 200bln RUR (5.5bln EUR). Atomenergoprom is one of the biggest players on the world market: it has a 40% share in the world’s uranium enrichment services, 17% in nuclear fuel production, 8% in uranium mining, 28% in NPP construction (10 reactors). The director of Atomenergoprom is Vladimir Travin, the chairman of the board of directors – Sergey Kiriyenko.
