OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 April 2009 was announced, that in 2008, the mineral and chemical company EuroChem spent 636 million rubles on conservation activities in Novomoskovsk. This is a 250% increase in comparison to 2007.

Most of the money went to modernizing and updating the cleaning system and also to the purchase of new and more effective cleaning equipment.

In total, in 2008, there was a great reduction of emissions. The amount of land buried waste and carbon monoxide emissions decreased by 18%. Also ammonia and Urea emissions dropped by 10%.

The discarding of waste into the industrial sewage system was reduced by 6.6% due to reconstruction of the waste water purification system, renovation of the artesian water pipelines, and an alternative wastewater disposal system in the manufacturing of Urea-2 and Urea-3.

All of these measures have helped to greatly increase the quality of waste water. As a result Shatskoe water reservoir has changed from a reservoir for technical purposes to a commercial fishing reservoir, category 1.

Waste water reclamation plant NAK (Azot) is the most powerful in the Novomoskosk region. Besides its drainage, NAK Azot also accepts and cleans storm sewage and industrial and domestic effluents from all of Novomoskovsk.

It is required to note that ecological technology in the company has constantly improved over the last ten years.

As reported by the federal bureau center of laboratory analysis and technical measurements for the central federal districts, the concentration of ammonia emitted from the cleaning system over the last ten years has decreased 18.3 times.
