OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 April 2009 was announced, that in March, Baltika Breweries dispatched its first shipment of Baltika № 7 Export beer in 0.33-litre bottles and 0.5-litre cans bound for Vietnam. Already in early May, Vietnamese beer lovers will be able to try the famous beer from Russia. Delivery is being made by sea from St. Petersburg to the Vietnamese port of Haiphong.

Baltika thus becomes the only Russian beer on sale in Vietnam. It will be sold only in the capital, Hanoi, as well as in the country’s largest city, Ho Chi Minh City and the resort of Danang. The distributor of Baltika beer in Vietnam is D&T Airline Trading and Travel Co. Ltd.

Baltika № 7 will be positioned in the premium segment. The average price of a 0.5-litre can will be 35,000 Vientamese dongs (more than USD 2.00).

Vietnam is one of the fastest growing beer markets in Southeast Asia. Since 2001, the volume of the Vietnamese beer market more than doubled and in 2008 it amounted to 19 million hectoliters, while the level of consumption reached 22 litres per capita (Canadean).

Baltika Breweries is conducting an active export programme in the Asia Pacific Region. In 2008, the Company’s sales in the countries of this region more than tripled; beer sales were in excess of 3 million litres. In the Asia Pacific Region, besides Vietnam, Baltika is available on sale in Japan, China, Mongolia, Australia, South Korea and New Zealand.
