OREANDA-NEWS. On 31 March 2009 was announced, that the Koryazhma Branch of Ilim-Garant Charity Fund (Ilim Group's partner in social projects) had successfully completed all projects scheduled for 2008. A total of over RUR 27 million was allocated for implementing social projects in the Arkhangelsk Oblast. More than RUR 5.8 million was spent as financial aid to the retired Mill employees, another 135 thousand being allocated to support the activities of the Kotlas PPM (currently, the Koryazhma Branch of Ilim Group) Veteran Council, such as organization of veterans meetings, presents for holidays and etc.. Under the Agreement signed with the Koryazhma Administration, the Fund transferred RUR 11 million for local preschools maintenance. In eight districts of the Arkhangelsk Oblast social projects were implemented with the total budget of over RUR 7.3 million. These funds were used to repair or replace equipment for hospitals and schools and to support sports teams and creative associations in the logging camps. Over RUR 180 thousand was spent to purchase 500 New Year gifts for the children in orphanages and state foster homes, disabled kids and children from low-income families in Koryazhma, Kotlas and Solvychegodsk. Key priorities of the Fund for 2009 are assistance for war and labor veterans, disabled and orphaned children, as well as support of preschools and the children's sports center.
