OREANDA-NEWS. On 31 March 2009 was announced, that Belarusian OAO Gomel meat-packing plant, OAO Zhlobin meat-packing plant and OAO Belovezhski on March 16 resumed exports to Russia, a source in the press service of the Agriculture Ministry told.

“Russia’s Rosselkhoznadzor sanitary watchdog on March 16 lifted temporary restrictions on supplies of meat products made by the indicated companies to Russia,” the source said.

As soon as the ban was imposed, Belarusian meat-packing plants in association with the vet service of Belarus worked out a complex of measures to improve the quality of meat products and monitoring of incoming raw materials.

Rosselkhoznadzor allowed Belarusian companies to resume supplies, since there were no deviations from the state standard.

The temporary ban was imposed on October 2008 on products made by Gomel and Zhlobin plants, and on meat products made by Belovezhski on February 6, 2009.
