OREANDA-NEWS. April 07, 2009. Uzbekistan’s Uzagromashservice and Belarus Minsk Motor Plant (MMZ) plan to create by the end of the year a USD 30 million plant to produce diesel engines, a representative in Uzagromashsevrice told.

The production of diesel engines with an annual capacity of 10,000 units will be established at the OJSC Motor Plant in Tashkent.

The joint venture is a part of the programme of technical upgrade of Uzbekistan’s production for 2009-2014 approved by the President Resolution.

About 40% of the engines will be installed in tractors produced by the OJSC Tashkent Tractor Plant, and the rest will be supplied to the domestic market to service farm machines.

At the present time Uzbekistan imports diesel engines for its farm machines and maintenance services.
