OREANDA-NEWS. April 08, 2009. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) organized a meeting to discuses the "Alcoa" proposals on changing the terms and conditions of the contracts of 30th December 2004, signed with "Oboronpromcomplex" State Share-Holding Company" OJSC, for supplying aluminum products for the governmental needs, and to discuss the FAS Russia's determination issued to the "Alcoa" group regarding the transactions for acquiring control over "Samara Iron and Steel Works" OJSC and "Belokalitvin Metallurgical Production Association" OJSC, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.   

The meeting was attended by representatives of "Alcoa", FAS Russia, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Russian Ministry of Economic Development.

Summing up the discussion, it was decided to form a Working Group to study the "Alcoa" proposals on changing the terms and conditions of the contracts signed with "Oboronpromcomplex" State Share-Holding Company" OJSC, and the FAS Russia's determination. The Working Group will include experts from "Alcoa" and "Oboronpromcomplex" State Share-Holding Company" OJSC.

"Samara Iron and Steel Works" OJSC and "Belokalitvin Metallurgical Production Association" OJSC manufacture aluminum products for the aircraft and space industries in the Russian Federation. The contract between "Alcoa" and "Oboronpromcomplex" State Share-Holding Company" OJSC for supplying such types of aluminum products has strategic importance; it guarantees fulfillment of the government's defence orders and other state federal needs.
