OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2009. The Uralmash Machine-building Corporation has delivered an electric traveling crane of 140/20 tons load lifting capacity to "ZAO Forpost-Energo" (St. Petersburg). The crane is designed by NPO VNIIPTMASH (Moscow) and produced by MK ORMETO-YUMZ (both companies are parts of MK Uralmash). The contract for crane manufacture was signed in March 2008. Total equipment weight is 152 tons.

The equipment will operate in No. 8 steel-making plant of the OOO OMZ-Spetzstal. It is designed to handle scrap buckets filled with scrap metal, capacity up to 110 mі, to correct weight of metal via a detachable magnet, and to carry out other auxiliary operations.

The designers took into account customer's requests: the crane is to comply with state-of-the-art technical requirements, it shall possess the necessary economic indexes, be easy to maintain and shall have a long operational life.

The machine has a modern control system, high-frequency transducers and an operator's cabin with a control console and an air conditioning unit.
