OREANDA-NEWS. On 15 April 2009 was announced, that UTair Europe – affiliated undertaking of JSC UTair Aviation– concluded a contract for the performance of seasonal fire fighting works on the territory of Turkey.

The first helicopter Mi-171 will arrive in the capital of Turkey-Ankara. According to the conditions, set in the contract, the fire-fighters will be on duty from May till September, 2009 with a possible prolongation of works till September. The helicopter with the crew will be based on one of 16 operational points, moving through the territory under control when needed.

UTair is one of the world leaders in the performance of helicopter operations, connected with the fire fighting in different climatic zones of the planet. In particular, the helicopters of UTair South Africa affiliated undertaking– have been performing fire fighting operations on the territory of the African continent since 2004. In 2007 the crews of helicopter Mi-26 UTair Aviation were fighting with the disaster in Greece, saving from fire the forests and communities on Peloponnesus peninsula, including the installations of a high cultural and historic value. Helicopters of UTair are annually monitoring the territories of Russian regions during the fire-hazardous period.
