OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 April 2009 was announced, that CenterTelecom OJSC, working jointly with Rostelecom, has completed the construction of telecommunications infrastructure for Volkswagen Group Rus LLC in the Kaluga region. The work was conducted as part of a connection project by Deutsche Telekom for Volkswagen’s branch in Kaluga to its corporate network through the Russian division of T-Systems CIS. The completion of the project allowed Volkswagen’s Russian branch to conduct its operations in accordance with unified information standards on the basis of T-Systems BS IntraSelect MPLS (FlexSolution), an international network platform.

Basic and back up digital telecommunications channels with 34 Mbps capacity each were built by CenterTelecom jointly with Rostelecom. The channels linked Volkswagen’s headquarters located in Germany with its Kaluga plant and office through T-Systems MPLS communications centers in Moscow and Frankfurt. CenterTelecom has also built an internal communications center with 10 Mbps capacity which linked Volkswagen’s plant and office in Kaluga.

Pavel Repin, Deputy General Director - Commercial Director, CenterTelecom, commenting on completion of the project’s implementation, said: “Work on construction and expansion of Volkswagen Rus plant’s telecoms infrastructure was one of the most interesting projects of the type for CenterTelecom. Supported by Rostelecom we succeeded in providing to the Russian branch of a well known international automotive company a highly efficient protected communications system allowing the conduct of operating management of the plant from the German office. It also provides immediate transmission of corporate information and fast reaction of the company’s management to possible dynamic changes in the production process. The project was completed on time; it expanded our experience in the implementation of upgraded telecommunications solutions given the customer’s operating requirements. I am sure that all this will allow us to expand the range of corporate customers for whom CenterTelecom provides unique telecommunications solutions.”
