OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 April 2009 was announced, that the President Hotel, Moscow, hosted the first Russian International Congress on Intellectual Transport Systems. Over 250 representatives of the industry, authorities, international and public organizations took part in its work.

The Professional Antiautotheft Association that has among its members insurance companies Ingosstrakh, RESO Garantia, Alfastrakhovanie, Soglasie, Moscow Insurance Company, electronic equipment manufacturer Altonika and NPO Itelma, operators of satellite navigation systems Avtolokator, Kobrakonneks, Mobile Positioning Systems, Starkom, Caesar Satellite, promotes concentration of efforts to form the Intellectual Transport System in the country.

At the moment, members of the Association service the car fleet of their clients that consists of hundreds thousands units including monitoring systems that provide on-line information about location, speed, travel time, route.   Besides, they allow to control fuel consumption, performance of the car and its systems, condition of the freight. There are now devices that have acceleration indicator to measure acceleration, which enables to reconstruct the accident within the accuracy of centisecond.

The members of the Association now have a large database from transport systems operators that can be used to provide information on the road, perform remote diagnostics of the car, improve efficiency of response in case of an accident, etc. The Association offers efficient solutions and functional business that adds value to its customers.

According to the President of the Professional Antiautotheft Association, Deputy General Director of Ingosstrakh IJSC, Igor Yamov, who spoke in the International Congress for Intellectual Transport Systems, “the purposes of the Association fully match the tasks of ITS Russia: to reduce mortality on the road and number of traffic accidents, to improve safety of road users, to promote efficiency of transport systems, to improve the ecological situation”.

Practical experience of the members of the Association is an example of successfully functioning elements of the future transport system of Russia.
