OREANDA-NEWS. April 17, 2009. The Head of Interregional Distribution Grid Company of North-West met the General Director of “Windlife Energy” (the Netherlands) in Murmansk.

General Director of IDGC of North-West Alexander Kukhmay met the Head of the company “Windlife Energy” (the Netherlands) Paul Lochiss within the frameworks of a business trip to the Murmansk region.

The Directors have discussed implementation of the Arctic project for development of alternative sources of electric supply such as a wind turbine. Russian and Dutch specialists have already had preliminary consultations in IDGC of North-West and “Kolenergo”.

According to estimates of Paul Lochiss, realization of the project in the Murmansk region is carried out dynamically.

“For today, the situation is quite good. We have administrative support; we work actively with the Ministry of Industry, Transport and Energy of Murmansk Region. Recently we have officially received a planning permission, so we can start our researches: to estimate influence on environment, measure of wind energy potential,” said General Director of “Windlife Energy”.

The first wind turbine with the capacity of 100 mW is expected to be installed in the Murmansk Region in 2011; the second is expected in 2012.

“Already next year we will start to lay foundation, said Dutch business man during the conversation with General Director of IDGC of North-West. We would like to cooperate actively with “Interregional Distribution Grid Company of North-West” on both connection to the grid and preparation of reports.”

According to Paul Lochess, “Windlife Energy” has already selected the engineering company in the Netherlands which will attend the technical issues.
In May he plans to introduce specialists of the company to the management of IDGC of North-West officially. Issues on technical connections are to be settled and several technical aspects are to be coordinated for further realization of the project.

“Schedule is quite tight, so we should discuss the scheme of connecting capacities today and prepare for it together with “Kolenergo”, said the General Director of Interregional Distribution Grid Company.
 
 When asked if IDGC of North-West was ready to receive representatives of the company “Windlife Energy” (the Netherlands) in May 2009, Alexander Kukhmay answered the following, “Yes, sure. We always support any development that brings positive result”.
