OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 April 2009 was announced, that since January 2009 Russian Technology Transfer Network in collaboration with partners from Germany, France, Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia and Kazakhstan is realizing the project named “Information Society Technologies to Open Knowledge for Eastern Europe and Central Asia” (ISTOK-SOYUZ). The Project is a special support action co-funded by the FP7 ICT programme of the European Commission.

The overall objective of the ISTOK-SOYUZ project is to explore new opportunities for ICT collaboration between EU and Eastern Europe and Central Asia countries and to foster the EU ICT programme awareness activities in order to increase the number of the international collaboration projects involving partners from EECA countries.

ISTOK-SOYUZ internal call for proposals is opened for applicants. The aim of the call is to select R&D teams with strongest ICT collaboration potential from the five targeted countries of EECA (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia and Kazakhstan), and to provide them with personalized support in order to increase number of ICT partnerships under FP7.

Project ISTOK-SOYUZ invites R&D teams from these countries to take part in it.

Deadline for submitting the applications forms is 1st June, 2009.
