OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2009. The Government of Russia will continue its joint business projects with Germany, Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with Prime Minister of Saxony Stanislaw Tillich.

Tillich came to Moscow with a number of projects in the fields of renewable energy sources and peaceful use of nuclear energy, particularly, a new project by the local research center (the partner of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna): a technology of treatment of metal units of nuclear reactors, which is supposed to help to prolong their service lives for 30–40 and even 50 years.

Putin said that Germany is preserving its technological capacities in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy and Russia is ready to help the Germans in the matter.

He said that this year the Russian Government has earmarked almost 80bln RUR for the nuclear industry but quite recently decided to allocate additional 50bln RUR.
