OREANDA-NEWS. On 23 April 2009 was announced, that from May 31 st 2009 Aeroexpress would increase frequency of trains on Paveletsky station – Domodedovo airport destination. For the comfort of passengers during rush-hours trains will depart every 30 minutes. Three more frequencies have been added: at 6:00, 8:30 и 23:30 to Domodedovo and two at 7:30 и 22:30 from Domodedovo.

Every year the aeroexpress trains are becoming more and more popular as a means of getting to the airport, and due to the upcoming holiday season a growth of passenger traffic is yet expected.

The introduction of a new schedule is another step towards improving passenger service quality undertaken by OOO Aeroexpress and Domodedovo International Airport. The initiative is being supported by the management of the Moscow Railroads subsidiary OAO “RGD” (Russian Railroads). In the first half of 2009 new ED4MK-M trains have been launched on the Moscow Paveletskaya – Domodedovo International Airport destination. Also the amount of passenger coaches has been increased, due to which the passenger throughput capacity has grown from 487 to 552 seats. By July 2009 the interior of the coaches will be renewed and all of the passenger seats will be replaced by new more comfortable ones.

Aeroexpress strives to provide a comfortable and universal passenger service to all the airports of the Moscow Aviation Hub.

OOO “Aeroexpress” was founded in 2005, is licensed by the Ministry of Transport of the RF. The company includes OAO Russian Railroads and OOO Delta – Trans – Invest (subsidiary of OOO Trans Group AC), which own 50% of OOO Aeroexpress assessed capital. Aeroexpress transports passengers from Moscow railway stations to airports. From April 15th the service is going to cost 250RUR.

Moscow International Airport Domodedovo – leader in terms of passenger traffic amongst Russian airports, its total share in the Moscow Aviation Hub adds up to over 47%. In 2008 20.4 million passengers used the services of DME. Today 78 carriers operate flights from DME on 211 destinations. Amongst them: 36 foreign, 28 – Russian, 14 – from the CIS. In 2008 Domodedovo was amongst top best performing airports according to the results of the ACI Airport Service Quality Survey. The Aeroexpress rapid transportation system began operations on Domodedovo – Paveletskay railway station on August 3 rd 2002.
