OREANDA-NEWS. On 23 April 2009 IES announced the open negotiations to choose the EPC-contractor for designing, supply and construction related to Kirov CHPP-3 project. Procurement activity is held through application of electronic trading site of IES-Holding.

The reconstruction of Kirov CHPP-3 (Kirovo-Chepetsk city) is one of the Holding’s first-priority investment projects. The site for combined-cycle plant consisting of three areas has been already prepared on the territory of CHPP. The first area will be occupied by the main building where gas turbines, heat-recovery boilers and steam turbine will be located. In the second area it is planned to install the distribution device; and the third area is intended for cooling towers of recalculating water system.

The introduction of combined-cycle plant will allow increasing the production of electricity at Kirov CHPP-3 in three times and significantly reducing the specific fuel consumption that will lead to the growth of the plant’s share in energy balance of Kirov Region. “We are following the decision on implementation of combined-cycle plant construction project at Kirov CHPP-3. The main objective of IES-Holding is to complete the construction by 2012. The input capacities which include two power-generating units 120MW each will improve the reliability of Kirov Node, as well as provide the possibility of transfer of energy to other regions”, noted Andrey Shishkin, IES-Holding First Vice-President, Operating Director.

The other tenders for investment projects are held and will be held in future through electronic trading site, that meets the goals and objectives of the united policy of procurement activity of IES Closed Corporation.
