OREANDA-NEWS. On 29 April 2009 was announced, that the World Bank is an international financial institution that provides financial and technical assistance to middle-income countries for development programs. Its goal is to contribute to making it possible for people to improve their living standards.

The objective of the visit is to inspect health care infrastructure of the Vologda Oblast aiming to define guidelines for future collaboration in this realm and to improve Vologda's health care system. The options for partnership range from providing advisory support to family medicine, to establishment of general practitioners' centres, to providing a preferential long-term loan.

The Russian regions that participated in joint projects with the World Bank were Voronezh, Samara, Khanti-Mansiisk, Chuvashia and Tatarstan.
