OREANDA-NEWS. May 4, 2009. The national pharmaceutical distributor CV PROTEK has opened a new logistics centre in Samara.
The office and warehouse complex is a leading-edge pharmaceutical warehouse facility in the Volga region. The new centre's floor space is more than 5,000 sq.m. The warehouse boasts a state-of-the-art computerized order-batching system, which will make it possible to provide prompt delivery of medicinal products to pharmacies and medical facilities in Samara, and to chemists in the neighbouring areas in the near future. PROTEK's customers will have access to the widest range of medicinal and parapharmaceutical products, numbering 13,000 items, from 800 Russian and foreign manufacturers.

PROTEK's centre meets the highest requirements imposed on pharmaceutical storage facilities: it has cold storage rooms, guarded space for storage of all groups of medicines, including fire hazards, poisons and strong drugs. To enable inventory control and computer-aided stock management, the Samara centre has an ERP (Oracle E-Business Suite) system in place, which provides coordination and real-time control of warehousing activities. The system is integrated with the head office in Moscow, as well as with a majority of customers and enables real-time monitoring of the storage facility and inventorying of incoming and stored products. The storage facility costs about 200 mln roubles.

The warehouse brought on stream in Samara became the fifth inter-regional facility in PROTEK's national logistics network. In 2008 it opened centres in St Petersburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg.
