OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 May 2009 was announced, that Russian Educational Forum 2009 was opened in Sokolniki Exhibition Centre on April 21 at 12 pm.

The participants were welcomed by: Yury Sentyurin, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation; Alexnader Rozhdestvensky, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency; Edward Nikitin, President of the Academy of Advanced Professional Training and Professional Retraining of Teaching Staff; Tatiana Potyayeva, Chairman of the Committee for Education of the Moscow City Duma, National Coordinator of the project “Associated UNESCO schools”; Father Konstantin Tatarintsev, beneficiary of the Cathedral of Lord’s Ascention behind the Serpukhovskiye Gates, Moscow; Vadim Dudin, Deputy Chairman of the Union of Educators and Science Workers of the Russian Federation; Nikolai Nikandrov, President of the Russian Academy of Education; Alexander Kisilev, Director General of DROFA publishing house; Mikhail Boguslavsky, correspondent member of the Russian Academy of Education; Sergey Sergeyev, President of MARPUT; Victor Isakov, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation; Alexander Asmolov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, Director of the Federal Institute of Education Development; Ekaterina Kuzmicheva, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Education of the State Duma of the Russian Federation; and Alexander Krutov, Moscow City Duma parliamentarian.

The ceremony was also attended by Yury Glazkov, the Chairman of the Council of the Interregional Public Organization of pedagogical press journalists; Evgeny Shesterninov, Executive Director of Dmitry Mendeleyev Charity Fund; Sergey Smirnov, President of the Union of Designers of Moscow; Vladimir Grachev, President of the Moscow Finance and Humanitarian Academy.

In the Forum’s welcome book Yury Sentyurin noted that “Russian Educational Forum is a significant event for the educational society. It is a kind of review of all strengths, opportunities, abilities and talents which Russia is rich in”

It was pleasant to hear the words of congratulation and gratitude from Alexander Krutov “for support of the Russian education”.

The exhibition surely aroused meticulous attention of the heads of educational institutions from all around Russia. 5, 000 visitors were registered on the first day of Forum. This proves Russian education is developing and improving all the time.

By a heart-warming tradition, the Forum drew the headmasters and teachers of the best schools from all across Russia.

The Forum’s business programme is highly-topical. The lectures, reports, master classes and mini conferences are held every day throughout the Forum’s work days.

Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy representing calligraphic artworks from 27 countries has hospitably opened its doors to the exhibitors and visitors of the Forum.
