OREANDA-NEWS. On 08 May 2009 was announced, that representatives of the power industry held environmental event within the framework of the "Energy Cooperation Contest" held by IES-Holding and its affiliated companies in 16 regions of the Russian Federation, including the region were Volga TGC operates. The task of the contest was to determine and reward the companies, intensively introducing energy saving and energy efficiency technologies.

In Samara the event was held in the yard at 1 Lenina Street (Association of Housing Owners Prospect). Power industry representatives of the regional management department for heat supply of Volga TGC determined three Associations of Housing Owners which consume heat in most efficient and economical manner: install heat consumption meters for the whole house and separately for each apartment, install regulating equipment, monitor the condition of housing engineering heat supply system.

The prize-winners are: Association of Housing Owners Prospect; Association of Housing Owners Tverskoe; Housing and Construction Cooperative - 49.

In addition to Certificates of Merit heads of Volga TGC presented to leaders of Housing and Construction Cooperatives and Associations of Housing Owners special prizes - the "Energy Saving Bouquets". The inhabitants liked the original compositions made of energy saving lamps and decided to use them for lighting of the entrances that will allow for economizing electric power consumption also.

Within the framework of the event power engineers especially noted that energy efficiency issues closely relate to ecological issues. By decreasing the demand for power, the energy consumers allow to cut costs for fuel used for power generation thus lowering greenhouse gases emission which helps to protect the environment. As a sign of high importance of this issue and environmental care, power engineers presented to inhabitants of five nominated Housing and Construction Cooperatives and Associations of Housing Owners linden nurslings. Several trees were set by power engineers and inhabitants in the yard of Association of Housing Owners Prospect at the end of the event.
