OREANDA-NEWS. May 15, 2009. Internet Forum of Azerbaijan has made a decision to establish new Internet contest in the country.

IFA president Osman Gunduz says that at a recent meeting they covered the issue of a national Internet contest in new format.

“The contest regulation, logo, prize design and system of registration of websites submitted for the contest have been endorsed. The event to be organized at the end of 2009 is allowed only sites in Azerbaijani language. The contest winners will be chosen by the professional jury,” Gunduz said.

The first national contest of websites in Azerbaijan, National Internet Award NETTY, took place in 1994. This year NETTY Award is marking its five-year anniversary. All local Azerbaijani-language sites and Internet resources about Azerbaijan can participate in the contest.

The winners are selected by two stages: virtual (usual people) jury votes and defines nominees and then academy NETTY (professional jury) chooses the winners from the nominees. The winners of NETTY 2009 are to be announced on 17 May.
