OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 May 2009 was announced, that JSC UTair Aviation sent a second statement about the violation of antimonopoly law by JSC Airport Salekhard to the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service.

The ground for applying to the surveillance department was the reception of a notification stating the dissolution (suspension of action) of an agreement on Air Company’s aircraft maintenance since May, 15 of 2009.

The official notification of JSC Airport Salekhard didn’t contain any real circumstances for the refusal to maintain UTair Aviation’s aircrafts as well as the aircrafts of other air companies. Such actions are perceived by the air company as a malusage of monopolistic position – JSC Airport Salekhard is the natural monopolist on the regional market of airport services. Salekhard airport’s limitations to the performance of UTair Aviation’s flights cover not only the commercial interests of the air company but also the interest of people living in Salekhard and other settlements of JNAD (Yamalo- Nenetsky Autonomous District). Development of such a state can lead to the situation when the air company will not be able to perform flights from Salekhard, though already today the tickets for the flights during the nearest summer months on this direction have been sold. As a result, hundreds of passengers will suffer having to refuse from the planned trip.
