OREANDA-NEWS. May 20, 2009. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received the top managers of the well-known European companies – Koen Minne, CEO of Belgian ENEX and Henri Lachmann, Chairman of the Board of Schneider Electric.

Taking an opportunity the guests congratulated the Turkmen leader on Constitution, Revival, Unity and Magtymguly’s Poetry Day and expressed the heartfelt wishes of happiness and new accomplishments on the path of grandiose reforms to the Turkmen people.

Greeting the guests and thanking for the congratulations the President emphasized that abiding by the open door policy Turkmenistan stood ready for effective mutually advantageous cooperation particularly with the companies, which had gained the reputation of dependable partners. The Turkmen leader noted that Turkmenistan’s profound economic and resource potential provided the vast opportunities to develop long-term collaboration in a broad range of very promising fields in the fuel and energy sector in particular.

Highly appreciating such an approach to cooperation the guests said that the European companies showed keen interest in Turkmenistan and intention to expand on the very promising, dynamically developing Turkmen market.

During the meeting the CEO of ENEX reported on the work done, the progress in implementing the prohecprojects in Turkmenistan and the results of the meeting in Brussels where Mr. Koen Minne represented Turkmenistan as Honorary Consul to the Kingdom of Belgium. Showing satisfaction in this information Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said that the Turkmen partners stood ready to consider the ENEX’s proposals on further joint activities in compliance with the priorities of the national policy of Turkmenistan.

The Chairman of the Board of Schneider Electric – the recognized world leader in electricity and automation management presented the proposals on technology modernization of the power system in Ashgabat, which had been designed on the instructions of the Turkmen leader. Mr. Henri Lachmann said that the company stood ready to offer its expertise, technologies and know-how to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the Turkmen capital where many large-scale facilities were constructed with every passing year. In this regard the businessmen said that the company would made presentation for power industry engineers and specialists at the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Turkmenistan.

In conclusion the President and his guests exchanged the wishes of further success and expressed mutual belief in further development of mutually advantageous cooperation in common interests.
