OREANDA-NEWS. May 21, 2009. The second meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish commission for economic cooperation is held in Ashgabat. A Turkish delegation led by Taner Yyldyz, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey had arrived in the capital of Turkmenistan to participate in the forum.

The commission that is to play an important role in intensifying mutually advantageous partnership is established in accordance with the intergovernmental Agreement signed upon concluding the top level Turkmen-Turkish talks in Ashgabat during the Turkish leader’s official visit to Ashgabat in December 2007. The Commission first met last April in Ankara.

The agenda focuses on a wide range of the issues of the current condition and further development of the trade and economic relations in such priority fields as fuel and energy sector, construction, textile industry, tourism.

The Turkmen-Turkish business forum will be held in the Turkmen capital today.
