OREANDA-NEWS. May 22, 2009. The Vice President of JSC RZhD Valery Reshetnikov and the President of NK Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZh) Askar Mamin signed a memorandum of cooperation in terminal cargo handling on May 21 in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The parties declared about their commitment to increase rail transit cargo operations between Europe and Asia by introducing end-to-end service solutions and establishing a single cargo handling infrastructure on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. The agreement envisages joining efforts on the management of terminals on the territory of Kazakhstan to the extent concerning logistic services. Under the agreement, the parties will collaborate to enhance container terminal capacities, involved in transit operations. JSC TransContainer will play one of the key roles in this project.

This agreement is another step closer to the accomplishment of the Russian Rail Transport Development Strategy until 2030 aiming to strengthen business links with the largest global transport companies for the sake of joint projects.
