OREANDA-NEWS. On 25 May 2009 was announced, that according to IMD (international management development institute), Kazakhstan ranks 36 in rating of competitiveness among 57 states, informed responsible minister of Economy and Budget Planning of Kazakhstan Dina Shazhenova.

"57 states participated in the rating this year (according to the results of the last - "IF-К"), and Kazakhstan took 36 place in the rating", - she declared at the press- conference on Wednesday in Astana.

She reminded, that in the analogue report of 2007, published in 2008, Kazakhstan took 39 place among 56 states.

"We have risen on 3 position for one year", - D. Shazhenova mentioned.

According to her words, in the rating Kazakhstan advanced Peru, Bulggary, Spain, Brazil, Russia (49 place), Italy, Greece and other countries.

"According to the rating we determined strong and weak sides of

Kazakhstan.

Strong ones are the following: high inflow of direct investments, low level of unemployment among the youth, low real individual taxes from physical entities , high percent of working women", - `Responsible Secretary of Ministry of  Economy said.

"Weak sides, - she continued, - high level of inflation, high spread of interest rates, low availability of money market, high risks and low life duration upon birth".

As it is known Kazakhstan is going to be among 50 competitive states in global rating.
