OREANDA-NEWS. On 25 May 2009 was announced, that at the premises of its new wholesale store in Desnyanskyi district METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine opened the Trader’s Show Room, which is unique for Ukraine. This new feature is introduced as a part of the larger Retail Academy program aimed at supporting the development of small and medium sized retailers throughout the country.

On the area of 60 sq. m. the Trader’s Show Room is equipped as a regular food store presenting a complete business solution for running a small shop. Three specialist of METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine responsible for the project will provide METRO customers with comprehensive consultations on various aspects of store operations from employees training to merchandising and promotions. For this an interested METRO customer simply needs to address the Customer Department of any of the company’s 25 operating stores in Ukraine

The METRO specialists will also help METRO customers with store redesign and reconstruction. Specially trained colleagues will work individually with interested customers helping them to create a better organized store with an attractive assortment, optimizing the sales area etc.

After a successful pilot in METRO Cash & Carry’s Polish operations the project is currently rolled out to more countries. Ukraine is among the first to launch this innovative initiative. All consultations under the project are free of charge for customers. The program begins with a pilot in Kyiv with a further roll-out to other cities planned at a later stage.

From the beginning of the year the company has been offering a new bi-weekly Trader’s Catalogue with food products at top prices.  Since October 2008 METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine offers the whole range of about 700 articles in food and non-food of the specially designed for traders own brand Aro with an additional discount of 10%.
