OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 May 2009 was announced, that Vice-president on new technologies of JSC SITRONICS Michael Minkovsky will speak at the conference of the newspaper "Vedomosti": "Telecom 2009".

"Telecom 2009" combines two individual communications conferences, Fixed-Line Communications and Wireless Communications. Such merger of conferences on wireless and fixed-line communications was due to the market trends: the major players are progressively consolidating using new market niches by associating into multidiscipline telecommunication holdings.

Topics for discussion

Who will be able to take the advantage of the new situation to increase the opportunities and expand business: mobile or fixed-line operators? How will the consolidation process develop?

Revision or freezing of regional projects for the construction of broad-band networks? Will substitution of fixed-line services by mobile services be delayed?

How will the strategy of a state holding be formed, how will consumers be retained in the mass market?

How will the ideas of single legislation for fixed-line and mobile companies be implemented? How will the change of game rules affect the long-distance communications market (decision on the change of long-distance access codes, switch-over to hot-choice and pre-select)?

Mobile retail. Is a switch-over to the Western model possible? How do retailers survive the crisis: expectations and strategy differences?

What is the destiny of additional services?
