OREANDA-NEWS. On 28 May 2009 was announced, that Eldorado, Russia’s biggest retail chain specialising in domestic appliances and household electronics, invested more than USD 3 million in the development of 2 stores with the total area of 4,300 square metres in Moscow.

When these supermarkets are open, the total area occupied by Eldorado stores in Moscow will be 32,000 square metres.

One of them was already opened in RIO retail and entertainment centre at Dmitrovskoe Highway on May 18. The investment in the 3,000-squre-metre store exceeded USD 2 million.

Opening of another store in Na Begovoy retail and entertainment centre is scheduled for June 4. The investment in the 1,300-square-metre store is USD 1 million.

Eldorado was established in 1994. Its president and founder is Igor Yakovlev. Now the chain includes 1,150 stores. The company is also developing Sulpak distribution network in Kazakhstan. The 2008 sales turnover of Eldorado was USD 5 billion.
