Last week, Vyksa Steel Works (VSW) and Chusovoy Metallurgical Works (CMW), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK), obtained certificates for compliance of their Integrated Management Systems for Environment Protection, Occupational Health, and Industrial Safety with the requirements of international standards ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.

David Fardel, Vice President and Executive General Manager of Bureau Veritas Certification CIS, awarded the certificates to VSW Executive Director Vladimir Kochetkov and CMW Executive Director Anatoly Karpov.

“The companies have shown high levels of personnel competence and demonstrated responsible attitudes of the OMK senior management with regard to issues of environmental protection, labor health, and industrial safety,” emphasized David Fardel, speaking at the certificate presentation ceremony.” “The systems developed and implemented by VSW and CMW are perfect.”

The certificates presented by Bureau Veritas Certification at the ceremony are accredited by UKAS (The United Kingdom Accreditation Service specializes in assessing the activities of certification organizations). Accreditation by UKAS is regarded as one of the world’s most authoritative accreditations.

United Metallurgical Company (OMK) is one of Russia's largest producers of pipes, railroad wheels, and other metal products for energy, transport, and industrial companies. OMK comprises six largest enterprises in the metallurgical sector.
