OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2009. Electric-Weld Pipe Workshop No. 2 (EWPW 2) of Vyksa Steel Works (VSW, Nizhni Novgorod Region), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK) launched shaped pipes in a new size – 30x20 mm.

During May-June, VSW plans to launch 100х60-mm shaped pipes.

VSW started manufacturing shaped pipes designed for building structures of various applications in 2004. At present, VSW produces such pipes in 14 sizes. In 2008, EWPW 2 manufactured 29.5 thousand tonnes of shaped pipes, or 20% of the Workshop’s output.

“We are expanding our assortment of shaped pipes in accordance with our plans to increase our share in this promising and fast-growing segment of the pipe market, said VSW Executive Director Vladimir Kochetkov.

EWPW 2, part of the VSW Small- and Medium-Diameter Pipe Division, specializes in the production of water- and gas-supply pipes and general-purpose pipes designed for housing and utility services and the construction sector (diameters: 15-108 mm; wall thicknesses: 1-2 mm), as well as square- and rectangular-section shaped pipes (diameters: 20x20 – 80x80 mm; wall thicknesses: up to 2 mm).
