OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2009. Vyborg Shipyard JSC will build a new shipyard in Primorsk (Leningrad region). All the documents required for construction have been obtained already, BIA learnt from the shipyard representative.

According to the source, pre-project works are in progress. The shipyard is to be provided with a loan for the construction.

“It is too early to speak about the construction yet as it depends on if we are provided with a loan. However, all the expert reports and documents required for construction have been obtained already,” the source says.

The meeting of the Environmental Committee (Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad region) dedicated to the conflict between Primorsk residents and Vyborg Shipyard is scheduled for June 9.

Vyborg Shipyard JSC is one of the largest shipbuilding companies of the North-Western Region of Russia with over 50-years’ experience in shipbuilding. Since the Shipyard was founded (1948) there have been built more than 200 different vessels with deadweight up to 12,000 tonnes, total displacement over 1,300,000 tonnes.
