OREANDA-NEWS. June 16, 2009. The delegation of the Argentine Republic led by Eduardo Alberto Sadous, Undersecretary of State for International Economic Negotiations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Commerce and Cult Affairs arrived to Ashgabat in the framework of the working visit to the Central Asian countries. The guest told about the aims of this visit, a series of the bilateral talks and meetings held at the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan in an interview to the State News Agency.

Taking an opportunity the honorary guest congratulated the people of Turkmenistan on electing Turkmenistan Vice Chairman of the 64th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Mr. Eduardo Alberto Sadous said that in recent years Turkmenistan’s prestige on the world arena as a dynamically developed state had enhanced considerably that made the country especially attractive for foreign partners

The guest said that the main objective of their visit was to lay the legal foundation for the Turkmen-Argentinean relations that would further intensify the interstate dialogue. The Argentinean high-ranking official noted that at the current stage the huge potential of economic cooperation had nor been employed in full. These issues based on the national priorities of Turkmenistan and partners’ mutual interests were the focus of the talks at the ministries. Mr. Eduardo Alberto Sadous said that the mutual export and import potential had been studied to identify new prospects for cooperation.

Mr. Eduardo Alberto Sadous said that the first steps to establish close business relations would be the agreements on economic and trade agreements cooperation and technical assistance. The guest said that they expected these documents to facilitate establishment of the bilateral intergovernmental commissions representing the national ministries and department and private sector of the national economy, which would meet on a regular basis in Ashgabat and Buenos Aires.

The guest noted that the vast opportunities to develop cooperation in energy sector, agricultural engineering and production of food industry equipment existed today. The Argentinean high-ranking official focused on the potential of partnership in agricultural sector, in particular stock raising, and animal breeding, growing of oil-bearing plants and grain crops. Mr. Eduardo Alberto Sadous said that the Argentinean Republic as a world’s producer and exporter of meat and meat products had the profound experience in management of agro-industrial complexes and advanced agricultural technologies, which it stood ready to offer to Turkmen partners,

In conclusion the guest noted that primary significance was attached to humanitarian cooperation as well. Despite the geographical remoteness cultural contacts between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Argentina would help to know each other better, enhance the ties of friendship between our two countries.
