OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2009. Industrial production growth amounts 1.3% in May against April of this year. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced on opening a Government’s sitting.

“Month after month we fix petty gradual increase of industrial production,” the Prime Minister underlined and added this growth proves that “the crisis, at the least, has stagnated”.

According to the Head of Government, increase of extracting and processing industry month-on-month in May amounts 2.3% while mineral extracting except fuel-energy resources – 7.8%. Thereupon, she imparted production of foodstuffs and beverages over this period had upped by 5.7% while metallurgic production and production of finished metal goods had also demonstrated 7.2% growth.

The Premier of Ukraine informed the only branch in Ukraine which hadn’t demonstrated slump still remained agricultural production.

She noted May of 2009 against May of last year had shown off growth of agricultural output.

“It is the only branch which demonstrated no slump as far as the crisis is concerned,” Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized and added in whole the growth of agricultural output makes up for 2.3% while separately for agricultural enterprises – 7.1%. “We are hoping for a good yield and agriculture will be the core of stability within the country,” the PM accentuated.
