OREANDA-NEWS. July 6, 2009. SC Olimpstroy’s President Taimuraz Bolloyev had a meeting with President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev and Deputy PM Dmitry Kozak. Speaking about the course of Olympic construction, Bolloyev stressed that “there is nothing to worry about, though the project is admittedly extremely complicated.” According to him, “there is certainty that things will remain that way, and there are no reasons for it not to. So, we should be ready on time.” The year 2012 is a benchmark for when the construction must be completed, as this is when test competitions are to begin at the newly built Olympic sites.
However, President Medvedev cautioned everybody against relaxing. “We know that when you begin to slow down in something, the rest goes much slower,” he explained.

Deputy PM Dmitry Kozak confirmed that “massive construction of Olympic sites has been underway” since March already. “Five Olympic facilities are being built right now, and we will get started with the rest of them by the year-end.”

According to Kozak, the only facility whose construction will have to wait until 2010 is the bobsleigh track. “Its construction will be in line with the schedule as well,” the official emphasized.
