OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2009. The document specifies the rules governing how Freight One may use its privately-owned railway cars in Slovakia. Rates on freight hauling and empty runs will be calculated in accordance with the rate-setting practices that are applicable to the Slovakian company’s own railway cars.

The agreement specifies the principles of collaboration between the administrations of Cargo Slovakia and Freight One on joint use of Freight One railway cars. In particular, the document makes it possible to organize incidental loading of Freight One railway cars.

Freight One General Director Salman Babayev said "our company is keen to enter new markets and expand its presence in European countries, especially in light of Russian Railways’ promising projects to extend the 1,520 gauge through Slovakia to Vienna."

We remind you that similar agreements were signed in 2008 with railways of Poland (PKP Cargo), Romania (CFR Marfa) and Finland (VR Cargo).
