OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 July 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ internal debt increased 1.2% on the month in May to 9.049 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) as of June 1, 2009, an official with Belarus’ Finance Ministry told.

Internal debt decreased 1.4% in January-May in real terms (adjusted for inflation).

Internal debt increased by 464 billion rubles in January-May 2009, or 0.9% of GDP, the official said.

Of the total internal state debt, the long-term debt of the government accounts for 58.2%, short-term debt for 0.5% and the debt secured by the government for 41.3%.
