OREANDA-NEWS. On July 15, 2009 S7 Airlines, the largest domestic airline in Russia in 2008, and Austria’s NIKI * the airline of former Formula 1 driver Niki Lauda, started new shared flights from Moscow to Vienna, reported the press-centre of S7.

Regular flights from Moscow to Vienna on NIKI Airbus A-319/320 will start from July 15, 2009 **. Both carriers sell tickets to these flights as free-sale.

The tickets for Moscow-Vienna flights are sold under the code-share agreement between S7 and NIKI. S7 entered the agreements on shared flights to Germany and Austria with Air Berlin and NIKI in October, 2008.

“Cooperation with Air Berlin is an opportunity for S7 to promote its position in Europe. Now S7 offers up to six flights per day from Moscow to cities in Germany. Due to our common experience with Air Berlin we can increase our share in the European air traffic market and offer S7’s tickets to Vienna flights. We believe that our cooperation with NIKI is going to be as successful”, said Vadim Besperstov, S7 commercial director.

S7 and Niki make six flights to Vienna per week, except Saturday. The flight departs from Domodedovo, Moscow, at 4.30 p.m. and leaves Vienna at 11.10 a.m., local time. The minimum one way fare is 89 Euros, 160 for a return travel, charges excluded. The fuel fee is not charged by S7 for its international flights.

For passengers flying S7 from Vienna to cities in Russia and CIS convenient links are provided in Moscow. Passengers can book a flight to their final destination at the airline site. S7 Priority frequent fliers are granted mileage under the program rules.
