OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2009. This is the first report of SPbAEP as OJSC. The company was reorganized on July 1 2008.

In 2008 the company concluded a state contract for the construction of the 1st and 2nd units of Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant-2, a contract for the design of the 3rd and 4th units of Leningrad NPP-2, a contract for the pre-design and design work on Baltic Nuclear Power Plant in Kaliningrad region and continued designing the 4th unit of Beloyarsk Nuclear Power Plant (BN-800).

The company also developed unified NPP project – NPP-2006. Chairman of the Board of Directors of SPbAEP-Executive Director of Atomenergoprom OJSC Kirill Komarov says that this is one of the key tasks of Russia’s nuclear industry.

The consolidated proceeds (sub-contractor organizations inclusive) of the company grew from 2.13bln RUR in 2007 to 5.15bln RUR in 2008, own revenues – from 1.69bln RUR to 2.02bln RUR, respectively. 

The net profit grew from 155.4mln RUR to 203.4mln RUR, profitability — from 9.16% to 10.06%.

The number of employees grew from 1,241 in 2007 (400 of them under 35) to 1,492 in 2008 (525),

Director of SPbAEP Leonid Reznikov says that the company has developed a number of measures to overcome the crisis: particularly, it is going to diversify its contracts, reduce its costs and enhance its efficiency.

“Today, our company offers full spectrum of services for building modern NPP on a turnkey basis. In the world they call it EPCM (Engineering Procurement Construction Management) – such projects include feasibility study, exploration, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning. Our first such project is Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant-2,” says Reznikov.
