OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 July 2009 was announced, that two new modern medical centers - a Multi-discipline hospital and Ene Myahri Center for Maternal and Child Health Care were opened on July 21 in the city of Geoktepe, Akhal region of Turkmenistan. The opening of facilities was dedicated to the 14th anniversary of the State “Health” Program, and coincided with celebration, for the first time, of the new national holiday - Day of Health and Medical Industry Workers of Turkmenistan.

The initiative of these facilities construction belongs to the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. They sprang up on the site where the protracted building activity had been carried out. The site came to the attention of the head of state during one of his working visits to Akhal, the Turkmen State News Agency (TDH) reports.

The multi-discipline hospital was built by the Turkmen builders. It is comprised of the consulting and polyclinics, children, therapy, surgery, physiotherapy, emergency departments, and the department of functional diagnostics and rapid laboratory. The hospital is fitted out with advanced medical equipment from Hospitalia International and Siemens companies.

Up-to-date medical equipment and technologies were installed in the Ene Myahri Center built by a Turkish contractor. The honoring of mothers from all over Turkmenistan who gave birth to and raised eight or more children was held at the square in front of the new clinic on the opening day. Twenty six Turkmen mothers-heroines, previously awarded Ene Myahri honorary title, received valuable gifts on behalf of the President.
