OREANDA-NEWS. July 24, 2009. Bakcell, one of the leading mobile operators in Azerbaijan, officially launched its new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program.

The Company reports that Bakcell’s CSR activities are focused on helping disadvantaged children, so Bakcell supports charities and projects that help children in need.

“To mark the launch of its CSR Program Bakcell signed a cooperation agreement with one of the well-known and successful charities – SOS Children’s Villages Azerbaijan. This Organization created several specialized “villages” in Azerbaijan in which children live and are raised. SOS children’s village is a family form of long-term raising of orphans and children who were left without care of parents,” it was informed.

The signing ceremony took part in SOS Children’s Village, Baku. Bakcell will organize educational activities for the children in the SOS village. Namely Bakcell will arrange and finance singing lessons to the SOS Children. The choir is expected to perform at one of Bakcell’s CSR events to take place later in the year.
