Vladimir Putin offers to turn to solid MET rates for coal. Prime-minister of RF Vladimir Putin offers to turn to solid MET rates for coal. It should be admitted that the current taxation procedure does not consider the difference of mining and geological conditions of extraction and often makes development of many deposits unprofitable, so due to that the change for the solid MET rates for coal has been offered, stated Putin at the session of the government panel of RF. Also according to him it has been offered to foresee the mechanism of their annual indexation depending on the change of the market prices.

Additional payoffs by Uralkaliy and Silvinit for the accident in Bereznyaki might total 6.5 bn RUR. Ministry of finance offers the government of RF to agree to the proposal of Uralkaliy and Silvinit on transferring 6.454 bn RUR to the federal budget in order to cover the expenses, related to the liquidation of accident’s consequences in Bereznyaki in 2006 and construction of 53-km detour around the emergency mine.
