OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2009. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reviewed the projects on further improvement and development of the infrastructure in Ashgabat.

The draft designs of the city highways infrastructure – the new roads as well as those under reconstruction under the programme on improvement of the road and transport infrastructure were presented to the President for review. As having set the aim to turn Ashgabat into one of the most comfortable and beautiful cities in the world the Turkmen leader focused on the need to work out new approaches to forming the architectural look of the main city of the country that should combine latest infrastructure technologies in the light of the national traditions of art of building

In particular, Vice Premier D. Orazov and Ashgabat Khyakim A. Bilishov presented the draft designs of bus stops, street lighting facilities and advertisement hoardings developed on the instructions of the President.

Bus stops would meet modern requirements. The air conditioning and heating systems would create favourable conditions for passengers all year round. There would be an illuminated display showing the time, weather forecast and latest world news at each bus stop. In the near future the similar bus stops would appear on other highways around the city.

In the framework of the new Ashgabat development concept the advanced technologies had been applied to design street lighting facilities – lamps, street stand lamps and lanterns. These facilities would be a beautiful element of urban landscape.

Advertisement hoardings were an attribute of modern urban environment. According to designers and architects the hoardings would be information channels and decorations of the architectural ensembles in the city. Boothettes would make living and visiting the city more comfortable.

Upon reviewing thoroughly the draft designs Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved them in whole. The President provided some remarks and suggested revising the projects. The Turkmen leader emphasized that these and other projects developed in the framework of the Ashgabat infrastructure development programme must meet the ultimate goal – to serve people, beautify and make our life comfortable.
