OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2009. At Kazan CHP-3 the unique in Russia low-waste, resource conservation system of water utilization in heat and electricity production.

The problem of reduction the supplies of the quality fresh waters is critical across the world. In the power engineering industry where the specific consumption of the initial water in receiving the products is high enough, the problem of its economical utilization is significant.

Within the number of years at Kazan CHP-3 stage by stage the unique technology is initiated for mark-up water treatment of the thermal plant cycle.

The first stage was the implementation of the complex for distillate genеration for boilers feeding with developing the special evaporators of the fast boiling that allowed use the heat effectively for product gaining. The thermal method of receiving the mark-up water of the plant cycle was cheaper due to maximal utilization of the low potential heat and reduction of its specific consumption from 0.24 Gcal till 0.12 Gcal per a ton of the generated condensate. From economical perspective this method is more perfect than the traditional one, namely, the chemical.

At the second stage was upgraded the traditional water pre-treatment utilizing the direct flow-counter direct method of desalting using the computerized systems of controlling the process of receiving the mark-up water of the CHP cycle. The result of this work was the significant saving chemical reagents, labor costs and reduction of environmental polluting emissions of chemical production.

At the final stage of upgrading the water pre-treatment at Kazan CHP-3 was developed and implemented the installation for plant drainage water utilization. In developing the unique equipment for the installation the leading specialists for low-drainage technologies of Russia participated: representatives of Moscow power engineering institute headed by Professor A.S. Sedlov and VNIPIenergoprom institute headed by Professor V.V. Shischenko.

The products, received at this installation, are recycled and used in technological cycle of the plant: solution, generated in the evaporation dish is removed the calcium and magnesium and is directed to filter regenerating of the Na- cationite installation instead of the brought salt, and the part after mixing with the initial process water, is used from preparing the feeding water for the thermal desalting complex. Calcium and magnesium goes out of the processed drainage as gypsum.

In the present this technology is utilized by personnel of the water pre- treatment shop attracting the specialists of EC "Energoprogress". The following processes have been utilized: collection of the blowdown waters of the evaporators, preparing the regenerating solution, the clarifier was implemented, small amount of gypsum was received. Preliminary agreement about the test gypsum utilization between our plant and JSC "Arakcnino Gypsum Factory" has been reached.
