OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 August 2009 was announced, that Vladimir Resin, head of the Integrated Body for Urban Design Policy and Development of Moscow, gave a press conference devoted to the half-year results at the information centre of City Hall on 36/9 Novyy Arbat Street on July 30.

The event was also attended by Aleksandr Kuzmin, chairman of Moscow’s Committee for Architecture and Urban Development, Aleksandr Kosovan, head of Moscow’s Department of Urban Development, Leonid Monosov, head of the Municipal Department of Capital Construction of Moscow, Pyotr Aksenov, first deputy head of Moscow’s Department of Road and Bridge Engineering, and Valery Shevchuk, chairman of Moscow’s Committee for Cultural Heritage.

The press conference was packed with 102 mass media representatives. Mr Resin touched upon the urgent problems concerning development in Moscow and other Russian regions. The official gave the information about how many homes and social facilities were commissioned in the first half of 2009.

The head of the Integrated Body for Urban Design Policy and Development of Moscow reported that 1,194,100 square metres of housing, 4 schools, 2 primary schools, 18 preschools and 19 sports and fitness centres had been built.

Besides, the officials replied to the journalists’ questions concerning:

implementation of the Bolshaya Leningradka project, reconstruction of Zvenigorodskoe Highway and Krestovsky Overpass,

participation of the Moscow builders in the program aimed at supporting South Ossetia and the work aimed at restoring Tskhinvali,

implementation of the New Rings of Moscow program,

development in the regions of Russia,

work of the interagency committee for protection of cultural heritage,

implementation of the program aimed at demolishing the dilapidated and uncomfortable housing,

public hearings into the projects included in the updated General development plan of Moscow scheduled till 2025 and the Rules on land use and development in Moscow,

problem of the deceived partners of construction projects and work of the committee for protracted construction,

social housing development,

implementation of the Popular Garage program,

energy efficiency in construction,

development of the Olympic objects in Sochi.

The meeting was presided over by Igor Kanevsky, head of the united press centre under the Integrated Body for Urban Design Policy and Development of Moscow.
